Chairman 2003-2006, West Midlands Barbershop Harmony Club

The West Midlands Barbershop Harmony Club was founded by a group of teachers from West Bromwich and the surrounding area in the West Midlands in 1977, becoming a member of the British Association of Barbershop Singers (BABS) in February 1978. The chorus who are more affectionately known as Anvil Chorus is a male acappella group consisting of some 40 members with an age range of 11 through to 80.

The camaraderie found in the world of barbershop is second to none and once experienced will live with you forever, for no matter where you go in the world you will always come across someone who can direct you to a place were a group of guys who, although strangers, will be singing something which you can also join in with.

We are often asked what makes a good barbershop singer? to which the stock answer is being able to make a sound which when put together with three other voices makes the hair on the back of your neck rise. If you sing in the bath or shower and enjoy music, you could be a candidate to join this world-wide hobby of ours.

So if the thought of getting together with a bunch of great guys and learning to sing unaccompanied to produce a sound which results in you finding that musical wow factor then come along and join us.

Should you want more information then please telephone or e-mail any of the people listed on the Contact Us pages.
